Role overview

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to lead the Procurement team in the British Council across a defined geographical region.  

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT/TEAM 

The vision is to establish a globally aligned Procurement function, equipped with the necessary skills and tools alongside a clear remit to deliver better value for money. This enhanced Procurement function will provide proactive, expert procurement support, allowing the business to focus on their core skills and deliver value in their specialist area. To support this vision there is a change programme currently underway.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING AND WHY

As part of the Global Procurement Leadership Team, you will work closely with the Head of Category Management and other Regional Procurement Heads to identify regional priorities that feed into Global Procurement Strategy, and establish a Global strategic procurement plan.

They will provide guidance, direction and strategy, aligned with a wider global strategy as established by the Director Procurement. The Head of Regional Procurement will be responsible for developing the regional procurement team and will take responsibility for managing the regional procurement clusters.

  • Experience of implementing cost reduction strategies based on category management methodologies
  • Proven ability in successfully leading change initiatives
