These courses are suitable for students currently studying in Kindergarten 1 to 2 (5 to 6 years old). We have one course available for this age group, Speech and Drama.

This is a theme based course that uses rhymes, poems, songs, storybooks, discussions and drama activities to encourage an enjoyment of communicating in English.

Learning outcomes

Speech and drama

The Speech and Drama course at the British Council aims to build confidence in a range of communicative activities designed to develop oral skills and nurture imagination and resourcefulness. The course also aims to help develop social skills, concentration, co-ordination, and spatial awareness. In each lesson your child’s teacher will use movement, poetry, songs, stories, discussions and drama activities to help facilitate these aims.

  • Improve concentration through kinesiology exercise and commands
  • Develop confidence to express ideas through discussions, storytelling and drama
  • Develop social skills and creative thinking through communication games
  • Develop oral language skills through stories, poetry, discussions and songs
  • Explore thematic language and develop comprehension skills by taking part in interactive storytelling and discussions
