Ensuring High Quality Healthcare through Education

A British Council 'Knowledge is GREAT' Lecture in conjunction with Lifelong Learning Institute's World Speaker Series

featuring:
Professor Lynn Kilbride

Dean, School of Nursing and Health Sciences, University of Dundee

About the Lecture:

Education is critical to social and economic development and has a profound impact on population health. Establishing lifelong learning in the healthcare workforce is known to raise standards and quality of care if the standard of education provided is high.

High quality education needs to; be research informed, enable critical thinking, innovative and evidence based and if it does not achieve this then the 100 billion dollars (US) that is spent annually on the education of healthcare professionals is wasted. This talk will discuss high quality education, its critical role in healthcare and society and debate how partnership working is needed to ensure that we optimise resource effectiveness in this area.
