All around the world, readers - teachers, parents, and children - are celebrating the 100th birthday of the much-loved Welsh author, Roald Dahl. Roald Dahl was a master at creating fantastical worlds full of the unexpected; he even invented 500 of his own gobblefunk words! His children’s novels, James and the Giant Peach, Matilda, The BFG, The Witches and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory to name a few, are rich texts that can be used as springboards for language development, creativity, and storytelling.
Join our special workshop and learn how to exploit these texts in your classroom or with your own children.
In this workshop, you will:
- Explore the value of children’s literature for the purposes of academics and enjoyment
- Learn how to use Roald Dahl’s children’s books for language development, creativity and storytelling
- Engage in fun activities built around Roald Dahl’s children’s books
You will also receive a copy of one of Roald Dahl’s books at this workshop!
