READING BOOSTER - GETTING TO GRIPS WITH PHONICS (KINDERGARTEN 2)

This programme helps to reinforce literacy skills for all students who need extra support in transitioning to reading fluency. Your child will learn about blends and syllabication, sight words recognition, phonics, tricky words and fluency practice. Storybook comprehension is covered as well.

Course fees: $660 (5 days).

WRITING STARS (KINDERGARTEN 2)

A new course specially developed for little learners ready for a taste of Primary 1.  Your child will read a well-loved tale and be engaged in various comprehension activities. They will also have a chance to act out parts of the story! After identifying the story's key features, your child will have fun brainstorming ideas to create and write their very own alternative version of the story. Aimed at confident readers, this course adopts the Talk4Writing method that is currently being used in many UK schools. It will incorporate elements of drama, comprehension and composition towards the end goal of learners writing their own creative texts.

Course fees: $660 (5 days).

Primary

FACT AND FICTION - CREATIVE WRITING (PRIMARY 1)

Let your child develop their creativity and writing confidence on a range of text types such as poetry and narrative. Featuring popular stories, your child will engage in a variety of activities including story prediction games, hands-on problem solving activities and spelling games. Over five days, this course aims to provide your child with a solid foundation to enter Primary 2.

Course fees: $740 (5 days).

LEARN AND EXPLORE - COMPREHENSION SKILLS 1 (PRIMARY 1 - 2)

Improve your child's comprehension skills! Students will read from a range of engaging, up-to-date, age-appropriate fiction and non-fiction texts, learning to answer simple MOE question types. They will learn basic skills for critical reflection on their reading and themes, preparing them for success in the new school year.

Course fees: $740 (5 days).

FACT AND FICTION - CREATIVE WRITING (PRIMARY 2 - 3 )

In this five-day course, students will analyse and practise targeted language features of both situational and continuous writing text types. Your child will learn to develop characters and plots in narratives as well as how to use technical language in informational texts. At the end of the course, your child will take home a portfolio of work that they can reference when it comes to completing writing tasks for school. 

Course fees: $740 (5 days).

LEARN AND EXPLORE - COMPREHENSION SKILLS 2 (PRIMARY 3 - 4)

Improve your child's comprehension skills! Students will read a range of modern fiction and non-fiction texts, broaden their general knowledge and analyse a variety of age-specific PSLE style question types.

Course fees: $740 (5 days).

FACT AND FICTION - CREATIVE WRITING (PRIMARY 4 - 5)

In this five-day course, students will analyse and practise targeted language features of both situational and continuous writing text types. Your child will learn to develop characters and plots in narratives and also explore how to write a good ending. Through letter writing, sports reporting and explanations, students will learn how to select the most important content points and arrange them chronologically. At the end of the course, your child will take home a portfolio of work that they can reference when it comes to completing writing tasks for school.

Course fees: $740 (5 days).

SPEAKING WITH CONFIDENCE (PRIMARY 4 - 5)

Expressing your ideas clearly and coherently is a skill that will last a lifetime! Your child will have the opportunity to practise speaking skills by exploring themes and presenting them in imaginative ways. Through developing and expressing ideas in a supportive, constructive and fun environment, your child will also build greater confidence. 

Course fees: $740 (5 days).

GET READY FOR PSLE (PRIMARY 5)

Get a head start for Primary 6. This course provides intensive practice of all elements of the examination: writing skills (Paper 1), language use and comprehension (Paper 2), listening comprehension (Paper 3) and oral communication (Paper 4). By exploring test questions within themes, students gain not only extra exposure to exam questions but also engage with the materials and their peers in a more meaningful manner.

Course fees: $740 (5 days).

LEARN AND EXPLORE - COMPREHENSION SKILLS 3 (PRIMARY 5 - 6)

Students will read a variety of fiction and non-fiction texts and critically reflect on and discuss topical themes. They will also analyse and practise a variety of MOE recognised question types relevant to the PSLE and Secondary school. At the end of each lesson, students will review the day’s reading, discuss the day’s themes, what they have learned and think about what they want to understand more about!

Secondary

LET'S TALK ABOUT ART (SECONDARY 1 - 4)

Is graffiti considered art or vandalism? Are screen print copies art? Explore the works of popular artists and develop general knowledge through discussions on visual texts and reading texts in this essay writing workshop. Secondary students will have a chance to bring out their artistic views and present their ideas and opinions through the process of essay writing. Referencing street art and pop art, students will research, brainstorm, plan and write their essays. With peer and teacher feedback, they will be able to refine their final pieces.

Course fees: $296 (2 days) / $444 (3 days).

SOCIAL MEDIA AND ME (SECONDARY 1 - 4)

Can you imagine a life without social media and apps? In this situational writing workshop, Secondary students will explore how social media affects their lives and the advantages and disadvantages of technology. Through current affairs articles, videos, listening texts and digital resources like apps and blogs, students will have a chance to think critically about social media and technology.

Course fees: $444 (3 days).

SUMMARY SKILLS (SECONDARY 1 - 4)

Develop a range of strategies to synthesise texts and write effective O-Level summaries. This workshop provides a focused approach to a skill students often struggle with.

Course fees: $296 (2 days).

DEBATING AND PUBLIC SPEAKING (SECONDARY 1 - 4)

This course challenges students to extend their speaking and writing skills to become more confident speakers and writers. Students will learn to understand the processes of British Parliamentary Debate. The course ends with a group debate competition.

PRESENTATION SKILLS - SECRETS TO SUCCESS (SECONDARY 1 - 4)

Develop presentation skills for success in school. This course will give students the opportunity to explore and discuss the secrets to success. Based on this theme, they will learn and develop the skills to give a successful presentation.
