The British Council East Asia and Australia supported the participation of performing artists and arts professionals from the UK, Indonesia and Malaysia in the IETM Asian Satellite Meeting, which took place in Melbourne and Sydney on 10-16 May 2014.
The British Council contributed to the content of the meeting in collaboration with Kelola Foundation. (Indonesia), AsiaNoww. (Korea), Singapore International Festival of Arts, Theatreworksw., On the Move., Japan Foundation, Japan Center and Pacific Basin Arts Communication.
Prior to this meeting Katelijn Verstraete, Regional Director Arts & Creative Industries, spoke at a seminar on “Creative Soft Power in the Asia Pacific” on “Who leads our soft power agenda, and what are their perceptions of the changing environment for soft power in our region?” The seminar, organised by Asia Link and Arts Center Melbourne Asian Performing Arts Program, took place on 11 May.
