WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING AND WHY

Reporting to Deputy Finance Controller, you will lead a team in Singapore and Malaysia to manage local statutory accounting and local tax requirement and to ensure all financial accounting processes are fully compliant with corporate standards and meet all quality expectations from internal and external stakeholders. The main accountabilities will include finance accounting, tax management, compliance and control, treasury, working capital, business performance analysis and financial reporting. On top of that, you will also support Board of Director to prepare local statutory report and liaise with internal and external auditors in Singapore and Malaysia on audit requirements. 

WHAT IS INTERESTING ABOUT IT

You will manage business dimension of yearly GBP30million Income and GBP24million total expenditure within Cluster Singapore and Malaysia. As the Cluster Lead, you will work with Global and Regional team and travel occasionally. You will be the key point of contact in the country for the provision of guidance of accounting procedures and issues to do with the British Council data model.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

You should have education to tertiary level or equivalent in accounting. Ideally, you will have at least 12 years of working experience in Finance or Accounting with solid experience in month end closing and tax calculation. ACCA, CPA or relevant qualification would be advantageous.
