24 parents and students from the British Council in Vietnam won the organised lucky draw to visit Singapore from 26 to 29 July 2016. Vietnamese students were excited to share with friends in British Council Singapore classes about their country as well as the summer courses in Vietnam. Our group also visited Universal Studios Singapore and Singapore Art Museum. During the trip, students showed their confidence in communicating in English with teachers and their friends. Tien Hung, one of high school student who joined the trip shared with us his blog.
I had a lot of wonderful experiences during the education tour to Singapore from 26 to 29 July with the British Council. From the moment I landed in Singapore’s Changi International Airport I was impressed. Maybe it was the fact that the place was so clean, orderly and efficient.
When I went to Singapore, I was very excited by the big buildings and the convenient transportation. It was very different from Ha Noi. I was also interested in the old houses, which told me about the heroic history of Singapore. I was told that if there wasn’t history, there wouldn’t be a future. In Singapore, there are a lot of beautiful works of art like the Esplanade Opera House, Marina Bay Sands and the Merlion which are regarded as symbols of a modern and peace-loving country.
In Singapore, the most attractive things for me were the sightseeing and culture. Singapore is an island country, so the culture of Singapore is related to the sea in every aspect of life. There are a lot of beautiful modern sightseeing opportunities such as Sentosa Island, Gardens by the Bay, Marina Bay Sands and the old streets too. It makes Singapore more beautiful and romantic.
