Our training team includes Delta tutors and a Cambridge external assessor. Because our trainers are full-time and based in Singapore, they have unique insights into the Singapore context and are available before, during and after your course. There is always a CELTA expert to speak to. 

Your learning environment 

Your Training Centre is centrally located in the Toa Payoh HDB Hub. It has excellent transport links and food and retail outlets. You will have dedicated CELTA classrooms that are bright and modern with interactive whiteboards, visualisers and pronunciation charts.

Your teaching practice classes

You will be teaching full classes of adults from all over the world. In your class you may have speakers of Portuguese, Russian, Norwegian or French as well as speakers of Asian languages.

Your classmates

Because you often have to work together as a team, your classmates are important to you. We select our CELTA candidates carefully and only offer places to those who have a good chance of passing the course. 

Your course

Every course run at British Council is approved and moderated by a Cambridge English external Assessor. We provide quality facilities, and all input materials as well as sets of books and CDs for you to use with your students. 

You will have access to a dedicated CELTA library as well as access to our extensive Learning Zone at our Napier Road branch

Your future

We are regularly approached by quality training institutions seeking CELTA qualified teachers. We post these on our alumni network site for you to come back and check.

As a CELTA graduate from British Council, you can deepen your knowledge in language-related areas by taking a Teaching Awards module as further study.

For this, you also benefit from alumni discounts. With British Council, you can go on to complete the Young Learner Extension to CELTA and the Cambridge Delta.
