Role overview

We are recruiting highly motivated teachers to join our professional team in Singapore. You need to have an undergraduate degree (any discipline), have an appropriate TEFL-I qualification i.e. Cambridge CELTA/Trinity CertTESOL, and have more than 2 years relevant teaching experience gained through teaching a variety of levels and age groups. In addition to EFL courses, we also run ESL courses (referred to as enrichment courses) for pre-school, primary and secondary aged learners. Therefore, any experience in mainstream schools and additional qualifications such as B.Ed/PGCE (with QTS) are desirable.

You will join a team of over 100 trainers and teachers delivering English language, teacher training and professional development courses to Singaporeans and students of other nationalities. Your principal duties are to facilitate the effective learning of English both inside and outside the classroom, in order to enable students and customers to communicate more effectively in English.

Please refer to our web site at www.britishcouncil.org.sg/english for a full range of courses and information about the centres. Enquiries about the post can be sent to the East Asia Teacher Recruitment team based in Singapore.

Internal candidates only: please remember to include the full version of your most recent end-of-year-record of performance/evaluation along with your mid-year review and confirm when the system prompts you that you have discussed the application with both your line and centre manager.

The British Council is committed to a policy of equal opportunity and is keen to reflect the diversity of UK society at every level within the organisation. We welcome applications from all sections of the community.
