How are our courses delivered?

Our team of highly qualified and experienced teachers are dedicated to supporting you throughout your learning journey and helping you to achieve the results you desire through guidance and feedback which is specific to you and your goals. Our courses can be delivered:

  • Part-time in a class size of maximum 16 students as we believe in keeping our classes small to maximise teacher-student interaction 
  • One-to-one/small group where you get to interact with your teacher more at your own pace and time at any of our four centres, at your workplace or residence in Singapore.

Face-to-face or Online Business English

These courses are for working professionals who want to be able to use English in the workplace with greater accuracy, fluency and effectiveness. The courses cover all four macro-skills: speaking, listening, reading and writing skills, as well as the grammar and vocabulary-building needed to take your business communication skills to the next level. 

By the end of the course you will be able to: 

  • speak more clearly and naturally in the workplace
  • discuss a range of business topics with greater ease
  • express and justify opinions on work-related topics more fluently
  • participate more confidently in typical work-related activities such as meetings, negotiations and presentations
  • better understand and engage with authentic written business texts
  • produce typical written texts such as emails more accurately so that they have greater impact.

Focus on Pronunciation

This course is for students who wish to improve their pronunciation of English either because they have problems in certain areas or because they need to speak clearly in the public domain.

By the end of the course you will be able to: 

  • recognise and understand the use of phonemic symbols
  • use the vowel sounds of English in speech
  • use the consonant sounds of English in speech
  • understand and use word and sentence stress
  • speak clearly and naturally so that other people can understand you
  • understand and use intonation patterns in speech
  • understand and use connected speech, linking and elision
  • use appropriate register, conventions of politeness and degrees of formality
  • speak with greater confidence in English in front of others
  • identify some of your errors and work at correcting them.

During the course, you will:

  • practise the individual sounds of English
  • learn the phonemic symbols
  • learn about individual word stress
  • learn about sentence stress and its effect on meaning
  • practise the natural rhythm of spoken English
  • learn about intonation to express meaning and politeness
  • practise listening to native speakers to identify meaning.

During the course, you will study:

  • the English sound system
  • the phonemic transcription of English
  • intonation patterns of questions, statements, commands
  • the social significance of pronunciation
  • varieties of accents in spoken English.
