British Council East Asia is committed to developing partnerships, collaborations and opportunities for the UK and East Asia in the arts and creative industries.

East Asia is a diverse region, with over 2 billion inhabitants, where we seek to develop partnerships for high-impact regional and multilateral programmes alongside our in-country projects and activities with a strong regional dimension.

By 2020 we will have strengthened the connections between the creative sector in the UK and East Asia as well as the role of the UK as a preferred partner in supporting country ambitions to develop more open, prosperous, creative and inclusive societies.

We will have reached and connected a diverse audience of 40 M to the UK with digital or face to face access to diverse & innovative artistic content that inspires and connects, a strong skills offer to strengthen the creative sector and programmes that contribute to social, economic and creative development.

For an overview of our work and strategic direction please read our new East Asia Arts and the UK publication.
